Overview

The Kipp & Zonen CMP10 is a secondary standard pyranometer with the best price-quality-performance ratio on the market. Based on the established CMP 11 technology, CMP10 extends this quality to applications where maintenance is difficult and/or forms a major part of the cost of ownership.

The CMP10 has an internal drying cartridge that will last for at least 10 years if the housing is not opened. This minimizes maintenance significantly.

The interval for dome cleaning can be extended, and the quality of measurements maximized, by fitting CMP10 with the recently launched CVF4 ventilation unit.

The "-L" on a product model indicates that the cable length is specified at the time of order.

Detailed Description

Kipp & Zonen's CMP10 measures solar radiation with a high-quality blackened thermopile protected by two glass domes. Its flat spectral sensitivity, from 285 to 2800 nm, makes it ideal for applications in natural sunlight, under plant canopies, in green houses or buildings, and inverted to measure reflected solar radiation.

A desiccant-filled drying cartridge prevents dew from forming on the inner sides of the CMP10's domes. Campbell Scientific also offers Kipp & Zonen's CVF4 heater/ventilator that keeps the pyranometer dome free from ice and dew.

The CMP10 includes a white snap-on sun shield that reduces the sensor's temperature. A bubble level and adjusting leveling screws enable the sensor to be leveled without using a leveling base.

The CMP10 produces a millivolt signal that is measured directly by a Campbell Scientific datalogger.

Compatibility

Mounting

Kipp & Zonen's CMP10 has a bubble level and two leveling feet, which allow it to be leveled without using a leveling base. The 015 Mounting Arm can be used to mount the sensor to a mast or the CM225 Solar Sensor Mounting Stand can be used to attach the sensor to a mast, crossarm, or pole (1.0-in. to 2.1-in. outer diameter).

Alternatively, the CM245 Adjustable Angle Mounting Stand may be used. It includes slots that can be adjusted to any angle from horizontal to vertical. The CM255LS allows for easier pyranometer levelling. The L31153 can also be used to mount a pyranometer housed inside of the CVF4 heater/ventilator.
