An integral component of Campbell Scientific is our in-house maintenance department. Our maintenance department is responsible for testing, calibrating, and repairing the equipment purchased by our Clients. The Campbell Scientific maintenance staff are committed to efficiently and reliably meeting your needs, and will have your equipment back to you as soon as possible.
Our comprehensive collection of testing and calibration equipment allows us to test equipment across a range of -65 to +85° Celsius. Our facilities include a water quality lab, solar calibration lab, and are equipped to service data loggers, relative humidity sensors, anemometers, precipitation gauges, field cameras, snow depth sensors, snow water equivalency sensors, and much more.
No matter where you obtained a piece of equipment, CSC is here to help. We can test your piece of equipment and integrate it with a Campbell Scientific Data Acquisition System. CSC will document the relevant information and provide instructions on programming, wiring, and configurations for the equipment and Campbell hardware.
The accuracy of your measurements is our top priority. To ensure a precise measurement, some equipment will require calibration at recommended intervals throughout the life of the product. At our Edmonton facility, we have the equipment and know-how necessary to calibrate your equipment. This service allows clients an easy way to keep up with routine calibrations.
Several calibrations performed by Campbell Scientific Canada are ISO 17025 certified. ISO 17025 is the main standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. Since the standard is about competence, accreditation is simply a formal recognition of a demonstration of that competence. A prerequisite for a laboratory to become accredited is to have a documented quality management system. Regular internal audits are expected to indicate opportunities to make the test or calibration better than it was. The laboratory is also expected to keep abreast of scientific and technological advances in relevant areas.
ISO 17025 certificates state the uncertainty of measurement. Uncertainty of measurement is the doubt that exists about the result of any measurement. Uncertainty is a quantification of the doubt about the measurement result. This includes items such as specifications of the test equipment, repeatability, and reproducibility of test results by technicians.
To be an ISO 17025 approved facility Campbell Scientific Canada must meet stringent requirements put forth by the ISO/IEC 17025 governing body and is audited routinely to ensure standards are upheld.
Pre-paid Calibrations (PCAL) are a service offered by Campbell Scientific Canada in an effort to help customers pre-plan maintenance for their equipment at the time of purchase. PCALs are priced at a 10% discount off the normal cost of this service. Equipment with a PCAL will be shipped with an identifying label showing the suggested calibration date, and all PCAL equipment will be tracked by CSC at our facility. Notices for calibration will automatically be sent out to the customer prior to the suggested calibration date on their equipment. PCALs are fully transferable as the service follows the serial numbers of the equipment. To return a piece of equipment which has a PCAL normal RMA procedures should be followed.
