Overview

The OTT ecoLog 500 3G is a self-contained system for the measurement of water level, temperature in groundwater and surface water applications. It features a complete in-well solution for groundwater measurement and flexible options for remote communications.  The OTT ecoLog500 is installed by simply hanging in an observation well with an inside diameter of 2 (5.08 cm) inches or greater.

Detailed Description

The compact groundwater datalogger OTT ecoLog 500 combines three features in one instrument: measurement, data storage and data transmission. The outstanding price-performance ratio is impressive - not only for qualities like longevity, precision and efficiency but also thanks to quick maintenance and comfortable handling.

Perfectly protected, all components fit into pipes from 2“. The state-of-the-art pressure probe is equipped with a rugged, ceramic-capacitive measuring cell, a precise temperature sensor and the datalogger. The communication unit at the top end of the system holds batteries and data transfer components. The two units are connected with a Kevlar-reinforced cable with pressure compensation capillary.

The 3G modem and antenna allows for great versatility in communicating data (HTTP, FTP, SMS...). In addition to the measured data alarm and status messages can also be transmitted.

A clearly structured operating program with online-help simplifies the configuration and data read-out on site. The infrared-interface of the communication unit is connected with the laptop via a special reading head; contact plugs which could corrode or deform don’t exist.

Thanks to the maintenance-friendly design, the battery, SIM-card and the desiccant capsule can be changed on site without any tools. A clever power concept makes the system stupendously energy-saving. Depending on the measurement- and transmission intervals, a lithium battery pack will last up to 10 years. This saves maintenance time and reduces data loss due to power cuts. Alkaline batteries might be used alternatively.
