General DescriptionThe CS440 outputs a 4-20 mA signal to indicate observed pressure level; the 4-20 mA signal is converted to a millivolt signal with use of a 100 Ohm resistor. The millivolt signal, in turn, is converted to user-selected units by the datalogger (such as psi or feet), then recorded. The static accuracy is ±0.1% over a 0° to 50°C temperature range. The CS440 is manufactured by Remote Monitoring Technologies (previously known as KWK Technologies and ACData Solutions). The CS440 includes a polyurethane cable that contains a vent tube so that the sensor head can reach equilibrium with atmospheric pressure. As the vent tube connects directly with the back side of the sensor's diaphragm, water vapor must be removed from air entering the vent tube. This helps to protect the sensor head from mildew, corrosion, rust, and also prevents formation of a liquid column in the vent tube, which will directly affect the measurement.
