General Description

The CS110 Electric Field Meter measures the vertical component of the atmospheric electric field at the earth's surface. These atmospheric electric field measurements are useful for assessing the local lightning hazard and for thunderstorm research. The CS110 uses a reciprocating shutter instead of the traditional rotating vane field mill - a feature that improves reliability and reduces power consumption.

The CS110 can be integrated into an automated weather station to provide a full range of meteorological measurements, data storage, communication, and control. Connectors are provided on the CS110 for attaching wind speed and direction, temperature and relative humidity, solar radiation, and rainfall sensors (refer to the Compatibility tab for more information).
