General Description

This is a new design of instrument which is unique in the market and features separate outputs for net short-wave (solar) and net long-wave (atmospheric and terrestrial) radiation. CNR 2 is part of the expanding range of Kipp & Zonen net-radiometers, fitting between the single output NR-Lite and the four-component CNR 1. The compact, rugged and light-weight design with removable mounting rod makes the CNR 2 ideal for field research as well as for network use.

The glass domes and silicon windows protect the thermopile detectors from environmental factors, are easy to clean and minimise the effects of wind and rain. CNR2 is designed for continuous outdoor use and the operating temperature ensures that even remote locations are no problem. Both short-wave and long-wave outputs supply a voltage proportional to, and generated by, the measured radiation.
