General Description

The CM21 Pyranometer is well suited for the measurement of incoming global solar radiation (305 to 2800 nm spectral range), diffuse sky irradiance measurements, and surface reflected solar radiation measurement research. The CM21 is a high performance research grade pyranometer, and is fully compliant with all ISO 9060 Secondary Standard Instrument performance criteria (highest possible ISO pyranometer performance category).

The CM21 pyranometer is designed for measuring the irradiance (radiant flux, Watt/m2) on a plane surface, which results from the direct solar radiation and from the diffuse radiation incident from the hemisphere above. The CM21 is a high precision pyranometer with strictly selected domes. Because of the high optical quality of these domes the directional error is reduced to less than 10 W/m2.

Like the CM11B pyranometer, the CM 21 complies with the specifications for the best of three classes, "High quality", as defined in the 'Guide to meteorological Instruments and Methods of Observation', sixth edition, 1996, of the World Meteorological.
