Water Level Demo Station

Campbell Scientific Canada has undertaken a comparison of several water level sensor technologies during the summer of 2010. This study is being carried out at the Canada-Alberta Crop Development Initiative (CACDI) Water Measurement Demonstration and Testing Facility, run by Alberta Agriculture out of the Lethbridge Irrigation Development Centre.

Part of the study involves displaying data and images in real-time using Campbell Scientific Loggernet and RTMC Pro software. The display shows the real-time and historical water level readings of an OTT Compact Bubble Sensor (CBS), an OTT Radar Level Sensor (RLS), and an OTT Shaft Encoder (SE200). Readings are verified against a staff gauge, using images captured by a Campbell Scientific CC640 digital camera and transmitted in real-time. Data and images are stored locally on a CR800 datalogger on site and relayed every 30 minutes via cellular modem to Campbell Scientific.
