General Description
In developing the Quanta, the Hydrolab engineering team thoroughly analyzed our current and
past instruments and incorporated the best designs from each into the Quanta. By combining
state of the art technology, designs proven by 35 years of experience, and modern manufacturing
principles, Campbell Scientific is able to offer Hydrolab's sleek, high-performance Quanta at
a fraction of the cost of other professional-grade instruments.
A Quanta system is composed of three components: the Quanta transmitter, the Quanta display,
and a connecting cable. Each component is discussed below, and each comes with a three-year
warranty.
Display
 |
The Quanta display is also made of the super durable Ryton®, allowing it to be submerged
(NEMA 6 rated). The Quanta display stores three "C" size batteries, which powers
the display and the transmitter up to 12 hours. The display itself shows five parameters at
once. There are two screens of data, which can be toggled with the push of a button. The user
interface is easy and intuitive. New users can get up and running almost immediately.
Calibration is simple with the Quanta display.
The display can also store 100 frames of data in the non-volatile flash memory. This means you
won't lose your data if you change your batteries. Each data frame can be reviewed by scrolling
through, and you can quickly access a specific frame. The battery compartment is easy opening
with a coin, allowing the batteries to be changed in 30 seconds.

Quanta Transmitter (sold separately)
 |
Designed specifically for surface water applications, Hydrolab's Quanta monitors up to eight
different water quality parameters simultaneously. The Quanta is equipped with a 9 in long
(23 cm) super durable Ryton® housing for easy cleaning, minimizing the potential for
cross contamination. Submersible to 100 meters, the compact design is also extremely light,
weighing in at about three pounds (1.3kg). SDI-12 output allows the Quanta to connect
directly to Campbell Scientific dataloggers without custom software.
Sensors that can be added: pH, ORP, Specific Conductance, DO, Circulator Depth, Vented Level,
Turbidity

Cable (sold separately)
 |
Hydrolab's cables have a durable polyurethane jacket, allowing them to be deployed in fresh and
salt waters for an extended period of time. Cables come in five different lengths - 5, 15, 30,
50, and 100 meters. For vented level, a special vented cable is used, providing automatic
correction for changes in atmospheric pressure.
