NDAWN: Agricultural Weather Network

Forty-nine Campbell Scientific weather stations make up North Dakota's Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN). Data from the network is used by an increasing number of individuals and organizations for a variety of purposes, such as irrigation scheduling, pesticide application scheduling, and various research projects. The standard stations monitor air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, rainfall, and soil temperature. Data is transmitted by phone and cellular phone. Additional parameters are measured in conjuction with seasonal changes or research.
