Phyl Ayliff: Brake Testing
Phil Ayliff Products of Warwickshire, England, are world leaders in the development and manufacture of high performance motorcycle brake
pads. In an effort to upgrade the dynamometer testing of their new generation of sintered metal braking compounds, the company integrated
a CR23X datalogger into the setup. This allowed them to easily and inexpensively gain extra information on braking compound performance
and durability. The CR23X monitors parameters like pad and disc temperatures, caliper pressures, braking power, and braking times. It
also enables them to ensure consistent testing, by monitoring the performance of the dynamometer itself.
